Future Mobility And Women

The transport formulas are changing and women are leading this transformation. They are the ones who are more concerned with joint transports, have greater environmental awareness and better plan their travels.

This is clear from the Cost of the Opportunity report on the mobility gap between men and women, which a bunch of experts unveiled this Thursday at the headquarters of the Ciampi Group.

Women mobility if a main part of the future…

According to this study, which is based on a sample of 2,000 people living in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Bilbao, women cause 9% less CO2 emissions per day than men: a woman produces 1,140 kg of CO2 per year , and a man, 1,245 kg.

On the basis of the price per tonne of CO2, the economic value of the pollution caused by them is € 31,350 more per day or € 11.4 million per year.

That is, the man generates an additional footprint of 255,000 euros per day. As a result, the state would save EUR 93 million a year if it were to take on women’s mobility behavior.
